Bio

I am a Ph.D. student in economics from the Department of Economics at Dalhousie University. Besides my strong interest in economics and passion for data and models, I have a solid technological background. My focus and interest range from various types of data and quantitative analysis to project management. Moreover, I was also a researcher at SBTT, which provides me with a well-balanced program study that offers the potential to develop analytical and technical skills as well as leadership and team-building abilities.

For the past three academic years (F20 – S23), I held the post of Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Tehran. In this position, I teach principles of Python and R programming applied to economics. At the same time, I worked as an economics researcher at SBTT. I gained solid research, analytical and problem-solving skills while working on many projects. My background in programming, working with data, and generating innovative ideas and strategies to improve processes of projects has provided me with a deeper understanding of the steps of solving problems and skills in writing academic and policy reports. I am also a teaching assistant for the Econometrics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Planning Economics, Natural Resources Economy, Game Theory, and Public Economics courses at Tehran University, Sharif University of Technology, Allameh Tabataba’i University, and Dalhousie University.

I am interested in learning human behavior, and I enjoy solving mathematical problems and modeling real-world situations with math and machine algorithms. I like to do research and work with different types of data. Furthermore, I enjoy the process of looking at an economic occurrence, thinking about the key empirical factors, and choosing the correct variable and structural choices to generate a model that explains the situation.
